Three Days

My oldest son will graduate from High School in just 3 days.

Three. Days.

It was just yesterday that he started his first day of his last year of High School.
Just a week ago we were touring the high school -- me, his obviously pregnant mom and him -- a slightly embarrassed 9th grader.
Less than a month ago he was graduating from 8th grade. I still remember his class singing a Switchfoot song.
Only a few months ago he was graduating from kindergarten.
And it seems like it was less than a year ago that I was holding him in my arms for the first time.

Time flies. Blink and you'll miss it. Life happens too fast.

I thought I knew what those sayings meant, but I didn't. Now I do. And it's OK. Trenton's graduation celebration is only the beginning of great things to come. And even though he is leaving home at the end of this summer, I will always be his mom. That won't ever change, no matter how many years go by.

It's true. You WILL always be his mom. And even going off to college... don't forget, he'll come home on breaks!! (I've learned to cherish the breaks.)
