The Difference 13 Years Makes

He is so cute now, but just wait a few years.

I went out for coffee with a friend. When I returned home two hours later, Caden was overjoyed.

"MOMMY" he yelled, running towards me with arms outstretched. "MOMMY IS HOME! I LOVE MY MOMMY!" He threw himself into my arms and covered my face with kisses. It was as if I had been away for days.

Tristan looked up from the couch where he was reading. "Were you gone?" he asked, puzzled. "What's for dinner? I'm starving!"

It's too bad they have to grow up.

Oh, not to worry: those alienated (or alien?) teenagers come around. Our daughter is now in grad school and loves hang-time with us.
